Apothecary Jars

Sure, they might be overdone.  You see them at weddings, holiday parties, boutiques, and countless design vignettes, but I can't help but love them.  A collection of clear apothecary jars are a great design staple and perfect for decorating events.  Below are some examples I've pulled from the web.

I stumbled upon this lot of apothecary jars on eBay.  A great resource for groupings of jars!

A colorful display of candy in a variety of apothecary jars.  Fun to look at and even more fun to eat.

Group various items of the same color in varying hues and saturations to create a very impactful statement.

And don't forget apothecary jars and cloches can make for some visually stunning terrariums, either solo or grouped together as in this photo.

A lot of higher-end design stores sell apothecary jars, but I've found it's easiest to either thrift them (online or in stores) or buy them at big box craft stores, such as Michael's, Jo-Ann's, or Hobby Lobby.  The website save-on-crafts is also a great resource--they have dozens of options for jars, cloches, and other glass containers.
